Exhibitions - A Visit to the Roman Dwelling of Spoleto
Spoleto (Pg). Dating from around the 1st century AD, the Roman dwelling of Spoleto in Via di Visiale is a remarkable example of an Imperial Roman patrician residence. Believed to have belonged to Vespasia Polla, mother of Emperor Vespasian, the floors of the house are entirely decorated in mosaic and arranged around the traditional atrium of Roman houses. Some of the lead piping used in the plumbing system still remains, along with some interesting fresco work. Open from October 16th, closed Tuesdays. Info: 0743. 234250.
